Case Study – International

My husband and I decided to separate whilst living in Arizona. I wanted to return to a country we had lived in previously. Given the fact that this raised questions as to which country would have jurisdiction to decide our legal issues, this could have been a very expensive, time-consuming, and drawn out process. When we made the decision to commit to the collaborative law process instead, we did so because we knew we would both have regular access to our daughter. What we didn’t fully realize until the proceedings began was how many other benefits there were as well. There were no court hearings, no judge was involved, and we spent a considerable amount less than we predicted. My husband even got to keep his collection of beloved classic cars! I wish no one ever had to go through something like a divorce but if they do, this is the way to go.
